Job Description

The Construction Manager manages and oversees construction projects. Directs preparation of the construction site prior to commencement of the project. Collaborates with engineers, construction workers and contractors to create project plans, monitor budget, develop project schedules, and staff appropriate employees. Monitors construction progress and prepares reports, records and resolves any issues.

*Please note this will be a full-time onsite position in Crystal River, FL.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Directs construction projects of the company
  • Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required
  • Establishes and manages relationships with contractors
  • Evaluates potential or existing sites or structures for development/construction potential
  • Negotiates contracts with suppliers, clients and other related groups
  • Monitors construction and financial activities
  • Prepare reports and conduct safety audits as required

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field – Preferred
  • OSHA 10
  • OSHA 30

EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years of project management and/or construction experience - Required

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the field's policies, procedures, and practices
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees
  • Participates in departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural change
  • Establishes objectives and policies
  • Maintains liaison with client contracts, and monitors construction
  • Project management experience
