Job Description

The Onsite Project Manager manages the completion of fast-paced construction projects. The Project Manager coordinates and manages the construction process from the conceptual development stage through final construction, making sure that the project is completed safely, on time and within budget. The position may manage multiple projects concurrently depending on size.

*Please note this position is a full-time onsite position in Crystal River, FL.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage transmission line and substation projects
  • Manage all projects to scope, cost, schedule, and quality
  • Monitor project status and reports to ensure profitability goals and management of cash/cost/billing
  • Responsible for project specific reporting as dictated by customer
  • Manage and ensure customer’s expectations for quality, schedule, and budget are satisfied
  • Report bi-monthly cost and schedule against approved baseline
  • Compliance with PLH Group environmental, safety, construction standards and quality procedures
  • Lead multi-disciplined project team to complete acquisition of required permits, licenses and land rights
  • Project closure activities including financial closeout and lessons learned report
  • Manage costs and cash flow including, the development of a recovery plan to stay within budget limits, if required
  • Manage the invoicing and receipt of all customer payments
  • Travel Required – Assigned full time to project site
  • Other duties as assigned

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering or related field – Preferred
  • OSHA 10
  • OSHA 30

Experience

  • 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in the outside electrical construction field – Required
  • 8+ years of relevant Project / Project Management experience; or 12+ years of relevant experience – Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, a plus

Knowledge and Skills

  • Familiar with transmission, substation and distribution industry standards, legal, purchasing, and utility accounting regulations
  • Work with Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Proficient with PC software applications including the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Prioritize work and manage multiple projects under budget and time constraints
  • Proficient in CPM scheduling and software applications (Primavera, MS Project).
  • Proven, consistent and successful prior performance managing large projects/programs
  • Purchasing
